Tonight’s Monday Night Group ride was the last one of the season, we were pushing daylight the whole way. We will ride again soon!
Please comment or send us a PM if you would be interested in getting together and riding periodically over the course of the “off” season. If we have enough interest we will look at putting together a weekend ride.
Thank you to everyone who came out and rode with us this year, we hope to see you again next year!
The CCC is coming up on the Sunday after Labor Day (September 13th) . This is not only one of the oldest cycling events in central Illinois it is the premier cycling event for the Springfield IL bicycle club.
This is an ideal event for a first time cyclist! First (and foremost) it is not a race!!! This is a purely recreational the ride. You choose the distance (options are 10, 25, 40, 62 and 100 miles) over flat to slightly rolling terrain.
The roads are entirely paved. Some of our roads have a little gravel on them. The club utilizes low-volume (but paved) county roads whenever possible. They will modify the route when needed if road conditions change due to any road resurfacing work.
Have you been training solo? If so don’t forget that you can still join us on Monday Nights for the Monday night group ride. We leave the shop at 6:00PM see you then or at the Capitol City Century.

It’s time to restart the Monday night group rides, this year we will start at 6:00PM leaving from the shop at 2500 South MacArthur.
These rides are geared towards all levels of riders, are weather permitting (keep an eye on our Facebook page if the weather looks sketchy)… and always FREE of charge ;).
Those with less riding experience or who are new to road cycling are welcome to join us and learn the ins and outs of riding with a group. Usually these rides split into 2 groups, whichever group you roll with rest assure that this is a “no drop ride” (we’ve all been there). These rides will feature at least 2 Ace staffers; one to lead the group and one to bring up the rear in the event of a breakdown.
Just bring your bike (in good working condition), a helmet (strongly encouraged) and a water bottle. Please arrive a little early to set up your bike before the ride.
We will keep it short for the 1st couple of rides and stretch them out as the season progress. If you don’t want to go through the traffic on MacArthur, just wait for us at Show Me’s and we will pick you up there!
It looks like fall is here! While there are some great fall cycling events coming up, We are closing the books on the summer ride season. So no more Monday night group rides.
We may get a small group together infrequently over the next couple of months (if the weather cooperates). So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for announcements on our Facebook page (search for Ace1BMX).
Thanks to all who came out and rode with us this summer. Whether you joined us or not, consider taking this brief survey. Thanks!
